Coordinated Legal and Arbitration Support Services

The Coordinated Labour & Arbitration Support Services (CLASS) is a shared service established to better coordinate — and reduce the costs of — labour and employment litigation on behalf of the K-12 public education sector. CLASS covers school districts’ legal defence costs related to grievance arbitrations and other labour actions.

The British Columbia Public School Employers’ Association (BCPSEA) is the accredited bargaining agent for all public school districts in the province and centrally manages the litigation covered by CLASS. In accordance with the EPLP Review Final Report dated October 31, 2017, the financial management and administration of CLASS transferred to BCPSEA effective July 1, 2018.
