BCPSEA Says Teachers Need to be More Realistic in Wage Demands

B.C. school employers say teachers need to be more realistic in their demands as contract talks resume.

The teachers federation has said it wants a 24 per cent wage increase over three years while the Public School Employers Association has offered eight per cent over four.

Association chair Ron Christensen says there's only so much money to work with and teachers have to narrow their demands.

He says they have to decide how much cash goes to wages and how much goes to other things like benefits, professional development and preparation time. (CKNL,CHNL).
