Courses for Human Resources and Leadership:

The Collective Bargaining Academy is an intensive and highly interactive learning opportunity that occurs inside of a unique three-day format. The Academy covers all aspects of collective bargaining including a collective bargaining simulation. Registrants should be aware that the timing of some activities will take place outside of the normal workday. Please plan for accommodation with the hotel even if you live locally as some work into the late evenings will be required.

This half-day course is designed as a foundational DEI course for leaders to understand concepts of power, privilege and intersectionality, and how they impact the workplace. Upon completion of the course, you will develop a deeper understanding of implicit biases and their impacts in the workplace. Courses for Teaching Staff

BC public school workplaces are committed to harassment prevention and non-sexist environments. Below is a free training course available to school district teaching staff.

The commitment for BC public school workplaces to have a non-sexist environment is addressed in Article E.1 of the Teacher Provincial Collective Agreement. Harassment is covered in depth in Article E.2 under the terms and conditions of the Teacher Provincial Collective Agreement.

This training supports these two commitments. The training is designed for school district’s to share with their employees.

L’engagement en faveur d’un environnement non-sexiste dans les lieux de travail des écoles publiques de la Colombie-Britannique est abordé dans l’article E.1 de la Convention Collective Provinciale des Enseignants.

Le harcèlement est traité en profondeur dans l’article E.2 dans le cadre des conditions générales de la Convention Collective Provinciale des Enseignants.

Cette formation soutient ces deux engagements. Elle est conçue pour être partagée par les conseils scolaires avec leur personnel.

The Support Staff Education Committee (SSEC) is pleased to provide access to a free course called: Promoting a Non-sexist & Harassment-free Workplace. This 20-minute tutorial will provide participants with an orientation to what workplace harassment is and is not, including sexual harassment. Participants are presented with relevant workplace scenarios that may or may not constitute harassment to engage learning and ensure understanding.

The training is designed for school district’s to share with their employees.

BCPSEA reserves the right to cancel any seminar/workshop/academy for any reason on or before the specified cancellation date for each such event. BCPSEA will notify each registrant by email. BCPSEA will not be responsible for reimbursement of travel or any other expenses incurred by the registrant on or before the specified cancellation date.

Cancellations by a registrant will be accepted in writing only to donnav@bcpsea.bc.ca. A full refund, minus non-refundable Eventbrite fees (all fees in Canadian currency), will be issued for registrant cancellations received in writing prior to the specified cancellation date. If a registrant cannot attend, a substitution is permitted; BCPSEA must be advised of the substitution in writing to donnav@bcpsea.bc.ca in advance of the event.
